Getting to Know Wendy Murray
Wendy Murray assumed the role of president of the Community Papers of Florida (CPF) at the recent conference in Orlando.

The CPF General Membership voted to approve the recommendations of the nominating committee at the meeting on September 20.

Murray is the owner and publisher of Senior Life Magazine in North Fort Myers, Fla. The magazine is distributed to the over-55 communities in Lee County.

She was appointed to the CPF board of directors in 2009. Her history in the publishing industry dates back to her high school years when she was editor of the school's paper. She was also employed with the now defunct Hollywood Sun Tattler when she was 16.

Murray was employed with the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group for 11 years and with the Breeze Newspaper Group for 11 years.

Murray earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Troy State University. She is active in her community and is the past president of, and serves on the board of, the Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce. She is the past co-chair of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and a member of the Lions Club.

She enjoys entertaining friends and family with gourmet cooking, playing golf and traveling.
