Are you registered yet?
It's getting close to crunch time for registering for the Community Papers of Florida (CPF) annual conference scheduled for May 4-5 at the Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort & Marina near Stuart.

You have until March 1 to reserve your rooms. After March 1, reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until the room allocation of 80 rooms for Friday and Saturday nights is filled.

Once the room allocation is filled, you still may send as many persons to the conference as you desire; however, you will be responsible for paying the costs for rooms and food and beverages.

The new guidelines established by the CPF board of directors, which include the number of rooms and number of attendees for which CPF will cover the costs, are:

For publications that SELL network classified ads: Up to 100K circulation, 3 rooms (with 2 persons per room, for a total of 6 attendees); 101-300K, 4 rooms (with a total of 8 attendees); 301-500K, 6 rooms (with a total of 12 attendees); 501-750K, 7 rooms (with a total of 14 attendees); 751K-1 million, 8 rooms (with a total of 16 attendees); and over 1 million circulation, 10 rooms (with a total of 20 attendees); and

For publications that only PLACE network classified ads: Up to 100K circulation, 2 rooms (with 2 persons per room, for a total of 4 attendees); 101-300K, 3 rooms (with a total of 6 attendees); 301-500K, 5 rooms (with a total of 10 attendees); 501-750K, 6 rooms (with a total of 12 attendees); 751K-1 million, 7 rooms (with a total of 14 attendees); and over 1 million circulation, 9 rooms (with a total of 18 attendees).

You can register online (click on "conference" on the blue bar at the top of the home page, then choose "online registration" from the drop-down menu) or the old-fashioned way, by filling out and faxing or mailing a paper form (attached below).

The tentative conference agenda (attached below) includes classified network training, CVC audit updates, a panel on restoring excellence in customer service, a session on Customer Retention Strategies That Work, a seminar on selling Co-op advertising, and a three-minute idea fair.

The Friday night reception will be held in downtown Stuart on their famous "Riverwalk." The Saturday reception will be the annual Kentucky Derby Reception. (See related articles on "Friday's Welcome Reception" and "Derby Hat Contest.")
