2010 Awards for Excellence: Forum Led the Way!
Forum Publishing Group in Deerfield Beach led the way in the annual "Awards for Excellence" contest held at the annual Community Papers of Florida (CPF) conference in Orlando.

Forum picked up 37 awards in the competition. Ten of those were first place plaques.

Close behind was Hometown News of Fort Pierce, which picked up 34 total awards. Seven were first place honors.

Tower Publications in Gainesville picked up 25 awards and seven first place honors.

The Osceola News Gazette in Kissimmee took home 23 plaques, and Journal Community Publishing Group out of Ponte Vedra Beach was close behind with 21 awards. Each had three first place honors.

The Observer News in Ruskin won 21 awards and an impressive eight first place honors.

Tampa Bay Newspapers out of Seminole won 15 awards, TheFlyer.com from Tampa and Miami took home 14, and The Pennysavers in Ormond Beach had 12 honors.

Best of Show was awarded to the Forum Publishing Group's Bar/Bat Mitzvah Guide, produced by Kyara Lomer and Lisa Goodline.

The Judge's Choice awards for each judge's favorite entry were presented to:

~ TheFlyer.com, for the Dimmit Chevrolet piece created by Tony Thomasson;

~ Tower Publication's Our Town Magazine's AG Klaus Jewelry ad;

~ Wellington Forums' Suburban Safari, produced by Matt Dean, Marta Mikulan Martin, Lindsay Moore and Kari Barnett; and

~ Flashes Shopping Guide's Design An Ad special section produced by Yolanda Cole.
